HV Coil's founding partners have spent the vast majority of their career within the power generation industry with special emphasis on high voltage bar manufacturing.  Each of our employees has diverse skillsets, and our manufacturing team has extensive experience in producing premium quality windingsOver the past decade, HV Coil employees have refined their expertise through the manufacture of over a hundred windings for virtually every configuration of conventionally cooled hydro and turbo generators.

Caleb Munholand

 

Caleb Munholand serves as President of HV Coil LLC.  Mr. Munholand began his career at the General Electric High Intensity Discharge Lamp Plant in Ravenna Ohio as a mechanical engineer in the high speed finishing department.  He then transferred to Northrop Grumman Corp. in Annapolis MD, where he developed engineering methods and highly precise tooling fixtures and molds for several of the US Navy's sonar platforms.  Transitioning back to Ohio at the GE Ohio Coil Service Center in 2005, Mr. Munholand implemented multiple stator bar manufacturing process improvements and progressed through the roles of Manufacturing Engineer, Operations Manager, then Plant Manager until January of 2014.  Mr. Munholand holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Youngstown State University.

Mark Shoemaker

Mark Shoemaker serves as Chief Generator Design Engineer and Quality Manager at HV Coil.  With over 25 years of experience in the Power Generation Field, Mr. Shoemaker began his career as a Nuclear Propulsion Officer in the US Navy and served as a plankowner crewman of the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Mark qualified as watch officer on the ship’s A4W reactor plant and served as Reactor No. 2’s Electrical Division Officer.  Transitioning to the private sector, Mr. Shoemaker worked with the assembly, maintenance, and design of both generators and fields as an engineer with General Electric International in Schenectady New  York for 3 years. Returning to his home state of Ohio, he worked for GE Ohio Coil Service Center as a Stator Winding Designer, Quality Engineer, and Machine Tool Designer until May of 2014.  Mr. Shoemaker holds a BS in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering from The Ohio State University.

Chad Rose

Chad Rose serves as HV Coil’s Director of Operations.  Mr. Rose began his career as a Process Engineer in the rubber extrusion industry where he developed a diverse background in Machine Design and Lean Manufacturing Principles at Lauren Manufacturing in New Philadelphia Ohio.  Prior to joining the team at HV Coil, Mr. Rose served as the Manager of Shop Operations & EHS Manager at the GE Ohio Coil Service Center over the course of 6 years.  Mr. Rose drove several Kaizen Events and reduced overall cycle times by 40%, while maintaining a vigorous safety program enabling 7000+ production days without a single Day Away From Work (DAFW) incident.  Mr. Rose holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Kent State University.
